RINDGE, N.H. (11/24/25) – The Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team is headed north to compete in the 3rd Annual NCAA Northern Classic, held November 28–30 at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec. The Ravens will play on Friday, November 28 at 5:00 p.m. against Division I opponent Fordham University.
The Northern Classic has quickly become one of Canada's premier college basketball events, showcasing programs from across all three NCAA divisions while celebrating the rapid growth of the sport in Quebec. Montreal has transformed into a basketball hotbed in recent years, producing elite NCAA and professional talent—including Lugentz Dort (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Bennedict Mathurin (Indiana Pacers), who both played in last year's NBA Finals.
This year's field features Fordham (A-10), Colgate (Patriot League), UAlbany (America East), SUNY Oneonta (Division III), and Franklin Pierce (Division II). Over three days, the teams will compete for the 2025 Northern Classic title in one of the most competitive early-season showcases on the continent.
