HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Southern New Hampshire opened the game with an early run and never trailed, using efficient shooting and transition offense to build separation in the first half. Franklin Pierce answered with a few momentum plays, including a paint finish from Grgo Katic (Zagreb, Croatia), a Katic three-pointer to cut into the deficit, and a fast-break sequence from Kayvontay Williams (Queensvillage, N.Y.) that helped steady the Ravens.
  • The Ravens continued to battle in the middle portion of the half. Raymond Baka (Atlandta, Ga.) scored inside, and Enmanuel Ferreras (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) added a dunk as Franklin Pierce looked to keep the margin manageable. SNHU responded with a late first-half push fueled by perimeter shooting, taking a 44-26 lead into halftime.
  • Franklin Pierce came out of the break with energy as Viktar Kachalouski (Brest, Belarus) opened the half with a layup and then knocked down a three. The Ravens also found transition opportunities later in the half, highlighted by a fast-break finish from Beni Lavodrama (Washington, D.C.) and a three-pointer from Anthony Parker (Middletown, Conn.). SNHU answered each run with timely baskets and continued to shoot at a high clip from deep, maintaining control the rest of the way.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
  • Raymond Baka led the Ravens with 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
  • Anthony Parker and Grgo Katic each scored 10 points, with Katic adding a team-high 14 rebounds.
  • Franklin Pierce shot 42.0 percent from the field, scored 38 points in the paint, and totaled 21 fast-break points. The Ravens also scored 43 points off the bench.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Franklin Pierce men's basketball team will return home for their final two regular season games. They will host Assumption, Saturday (1/20), for a 3:30 p.m. tip-off.
