HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Franklin Pierce opened the night with strong offensive rhythm, shooting 60 percent in the first half and connecting on five threes. Early scoring from Raymond Baka (Atlanta, Ga.) and Anthony Parker (Middletown, Conn.) helped the Ravens keep pace through a fast-moving first quarter of action. Emmanuel Ferreras (Santo Domingo, D.R.) provided a lift around the rim, helping FPU stay within striking distance despite a 45-43 halftime deficit.
  • In the second half, the Ravens continued to counter every Southern Connecticut surge. Parker delivered multiple transition finishes to tie the game at 63-63, while Ferreras' strong second-chance finish put FPU ahead 73-71 with under four minutes to go.
  • After the Owls tied the game at 76-76, Ferreras was fouled with four seconds remaining and knocked down both free throws. Franklin Pierce forced a stop on the final possession to close out the season with a 78-76 victory.
