WORCESTER, Mass. (5/2/26) - Franklin Pierce women's rowing took to the water on Saturday morning at the New England Women's Rowing Championships, competing in the Varsity 4+ event against a competitive regional field.
The Ravens' lineup featured
Valerie Stenersen (Stroke),
Alexis Massey (3),
Z Abdelnur (2),
Isabella Goucher (1), and
Hannah Tingley (Cox).
Franklin Pierce opened the day with a solid effort in the heat, positioning themselves well against several established crews. The Ravens showed consistency through the middle portion of the race and maintained their rhythm down the stretch, earning a spot in the Grand Final.
In the afternoon final, the Ravens battled against some of the top boats in the region. Franklin Pierce crossed the line in fifth place with a time of 10:05.729, finishing just ahead of Bowdoin in a tightly contested race. Amherst claimed the overall title, followed by Tufts and Middlebury.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The FPU Rowing team will travel to Georgia for the Women's Small Boat Initiative Championship. They will compete on May 12.
