HOW IT HAPPENED
- Getting through the top of the first inning scoreless in Johnny Ruggiero Jr's first appearance at Franklin Pierce, the Ravens got on the board in the bottom of the first after Andreas Boglis hit a two-run single following Rafael Rodriguez Rosa's sacrifice fly, which scored one run.
- Goldey-Beacom answered with two of their own runs in the top of the second and took the lead in the third, 5-2, on two singles and a sacrifice fly, each of them bringing in one run.
- The Lightning extended the lead to 7-2 in the top of the sixth inning before the Ravens were able to bring in any more runs. In the bottom of the seventh, Franklin Pierce loaded the bases with walks from Jacob Roque and Ivan Arias, as well as a single by Joey Acker. Curt Boyd's walk and Rodriguez Rosa's sacrifice fly brought in two runs before the end of the inning, bringing the score to 7-5.
- Two scoreless innings would follow, finalizing the score at 7-5 Goldey-Beacom.Â
