SPRINGFIELD, MASS. (5/2/2026) - After Rafael Rodriguez Rosa's game-tying homer, a big second inning and lengthy rain delay helped AIC pull away for the 7-2 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- AIC scored the first run of the game early, on a sacrifice fly to left field.
- In the top of the second inning, Rafael Rodriguez Rosa answered with a solo homer to tie the game at one.
- The Yellowjackets quickly added four additional runs in the bottom of the inning, retaking the lead, 5-1. The game went into a rain delay in the bottom of the third inning, pushing off play for over three hours. Coming out of the break, AIC tacked on two more runs on a 2 RBI double.
- The game saw no runs through the fourth and fifth inning, and the final run of the game was scored on a Colin Hoffman single that sent Curt Boyd across home plate.
- The final inning remained scoreless, giving AIC the 7-2 win.
