RINDGE, N.H. (5/1/2026) - Franklin Pierce split the Friday doubleheader at AIC, rallying late in Game 1 for a 7-6 win behind a complete-game effort from Stephen Bangs before falling 4-1 in Game 2.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- Franklin Pierce got on the board early, as Curt Boyd reached first base on a throwing error, allowing Joey Acker to score the first run of the game. Quickly after, Brycen Voisine hit a 2 RBI single to right field that scored Rafael Rodriguez Rosa and Boyd to take a three run lead going into the bottom of the first inning. The Yellowjackets answered in the bottom of the inning, bringing in three runs of their own to tie the game at 3 a piece.
- Stephen Bangs and the Ravens defense was able to keep AIC off the board until the fifth inning when a RBI single gave the Yellowjackets the lead. AIC added a fifth run in the sixth inning to bring the score to 5-3.
- The top of the seventh inning proved to be productive for the Ravens, starting with a Rodriguez Rosa double to score Boyd. A sacrifice fly just after by Bryan Sanders II tied the game at 5 as Rodriguez Rosa crossed home plate. Franklin Pierce took the lead as Brycen Tetler attempted to steal second base, occupying the Yellowjackets and allowing Adam Ladinos to score the sixth Ravens run of the game.
- After keeping the Yellowjackets off the board with three ground outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, Franklin Pierce extended the lead to 7-5 on a RBI double by Nathan Eckerson to score Acker. AIC added on a final run in the bottom of the eighth inning, and a scoreless ninth for both teams landed the final at 6-7 Ravens.
Game 2
- The Ravens scored their only run of the game early, in the top of the second inning on a single by Jacob Roque that scored Brycen Voisine.
- Despite having multiple runners on throughout the remainder of the game, Franklin Pierce was not able to capitalize. The Yellowjackets were kept off the board through two, and tied the game at one in the bottom of the third inning.
- AIC extended their lead to 3-2 with a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the fourth, and added on a fourth and final run in the sixth inning on a solo home run to finalize the score at 4-1 Yellowjackets.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens finish their season tomorrow afternoon at AIC. Game one of the doubleheader is set for 12:00 PM in Springfield, Mass.
