NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (6/5/25) - One of the most decorated figures in Franklin Pierce University Athletics history added another milestone to an already legendary career on Thursday, as former head baseball coach Jayson King was officially named to the Northeast10 Conference Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
The announcement was made by the NE10 office as part of a 10-member class that spans nine institutions and nine sports, including seven former student-athletes, two championship-winning teams, and one coach. King becomes the latest Raven and just the second baseball coach in league history to earn a place among the NE10's all-time greats, joining former Bryant head coach Jon Sjogren.
Jayson King's tenure as head baseball coach at Franklin Pierce was one of pure dominance. Over 18 seasons in Rindge, including 16 as a member of the NE10, King guided the Ravens to nine NE10 regular season championships, five NE10 Championship titles, seven NCAA Regional titles, and seven trips to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship. He was named Northeast Region Coach of the Year seven times and also earned Division II Coach of the Year honors seven times. Over 16 seasons in the NE10, King amassed 616 wins, which currently ranks second in conference history. Under his leadership, Franklin Pierce posted seven 40-win seasons, highlighted by 49 wins in 2007.
King finished his time at Franklin Pierce with a 650-291-3 record (.690 winning percentage) and was instrumental in building the program into a national powerhouse. The Ravens became a fixture in postseason play and a perennial threat in the NCAA tournament under his watch. His impact extended beyond the win column. He mentored 31 All-Americans, 87 All-Region selections, 128 All-Conference honorees, and produced 28 MLB Draft picks, a total that ranked third among all New England programs at the time of his departure.
He also played a key role in fundraising for the construction of Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field, which opened in 2005 and has hosted multiple NCAA Regionals, Super Regionals and NE10 Championships. The facility has become a premier destination for college baseball in the northeast.
With his induction, King becomes the 11th representative from Franklin Pierce University to be enshrined in the NE10 Hall of Fame. The NE10 Hall of Fame, which began in 2006, now includes 153 individuals and 29 teams as of 2025.
