RINDGE, N.H. (11/24/25) – Senior linebacker
Geno Facchetti (Wilbraham, Mass.) has added yet another honor to his historic 2025 campaign, earning Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Defensive Player of the Year for Super Region 1, becoming the first Franklin Pierce football student-athlete ever to receive the award. Facchetti was also named a First Team All-Super Region 1 linebacker, while sophomore defensive back
Damir Stone (East Orange, N.J.) earned a spot on the First Team defense, giving the Ravens two selections on the regional stage for the first time in program history.
Facchetti's award comes after one of the most dominant defensive seasons ever produced at Franklin Pierce. The NE10 Defensive Player of the Year finished with 62 tackles, 39 solo, and led the conference with 15.5 tackles for loss for 69 yards. His 9.0 sacks set a new single-season program record and helped the Ravens lead the NE10 in total team sacks.
Regionally, he ranked second in sacks and third in tackles for loss, establishing himself as one of Division II's most disruptive front-seven defenders. Facchetti becomes the first Raven ever to earn both the NE10 and D2CCA Super Region Defensive Player of the Year awards.
Stone joined Facchetti on the First Team following a standout sophomore year in which he posted three interceptions, numerous pass breakups, and contributed key special teams plays—including returning two blocked kicks for touchdowns. His 15 pass breakups led the NE10 and set a new Franklin Pierce single-season record, highlighting his impact in the secondary.
The D2CCA All-Super Region Teams are nominated and voted on by the sports information directors of the region. Super Region 1 features the G-MAC, PSAC, MEC and NE10 conferences.
