Mimi Ortiz (Nashua, N.H.) turned in an impressive all-around performance at the SNHU Invite, earning Northeast 10 Rookie of the Week honors after competing in four events and posting two first-place finishes.
Ortiz highlighted her day with a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 15.33 seconds, which currently ranks second in the NE10 this season. She also ran a leg on the winning 4x100 relay team that posted a time of 48.00 seconds, the top time in the NE10 so far this season.
In addition to her event wins, Ortiz also competed in the 100 meters and 200 meters, finishing eighth in both events with times of 12.67 and 26.34, respectively. Her performances in those events currently rank eighth in the NE10 in the 100 and ninth in the 200.
The Franklin Pierce track and field team is back in action this weekend at Fithburg's Jim Sheehan Invite.Â
