MANCHESTER, N.H. (3/26/26) – The Franklin Pierce University men's and women's track and field teams opened the outdoor season on Thursday at the SNHU Spring Invitational.
Issys Price and
Destiny Fields each set new program records in their respective events.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
On the women's side,
Mimi Ortiz (Nashua, N.H.) won the 100-meter hurdles, and the 4x100-meter relay team of
Sidney Chapman (Gorham, N.H.),
Abbie Jacobson (Cumberland, Maine), Ortiz, and
Issys Price (Brockton, Mass.) also placed first. Price added a second-place finish in the 100 meter and set a new school record with a time of 12.11 second.
Lanette StJohn (Hayden, Ala.) finished third in the 200 meters and first year
Kaydence Finley (Roosevelt, N.Y.) placed second in the 100-meter hurdles and fifth in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the field events,
Kaitlyn Titus (Baltic, Conn.) tied for first in the high jump and finished fourth in the triple jump,
Rachel LeBlanc (Winchendon, Mass.) placed second in the high jump, and
Lizzy Jones (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) finished second in the pole vault.
In the throws,
Destiny Fields (Lindenwold, N.J.) won both the shot put and discus, setting a new school record with a throw of 40.98m.
Emily Nhun (Biddeford, Maine) placed third in the shot put and fourth in the discus,
Abigail Philbin (Narragansett, R.I.) placed fourth in the shot put and won the hammer throw finals, and
Ellie Nunes (Woodstock, Conn.) finished third in the hammer throw finals and seventh in the shot put. StJohn also placed fourth in the javelin.
MEN'S RESULTS
On the men's side,
Jamel Lee (New Haven, Conn.) finished fourth in the 100 meters, while
Cristian Reinoso (Lawrence, Mass.) placed second in the 200 meters.
Noah Roberts (Westerly, R.I.) and
Sam Fortin (Hebron, Conn.) finished third and fourth, respectively, in the 1500 meters, and
Declan Morgan (West Springfield, Mass.) placed sixth in the 5000. The men's 4x100 relay team placed first, and the 4x400 relay finished fifth.
In the field events,
Nathan Donahue (Middleboro, Mass.) finished fifth in the long jump,
Zaire Rosa (Brooklym, N.Y.) placed sixth in the triple jump, and
Shawn Mulkerin (Billerica, Mass.) finished sixth in the high jump. In the throws,
Jah'rece Matthews (Roosevelt, N.Y.) placed second in both the shot put and discus finals,
Seamus Considine (South Kingstown, R.I.) won the hammer throw,
Jay Candelario (New Haven, Conn.) placed sixth in the hammer throw finals, and
Noah Cutler (Wallingford, Conn.) finished sixth in the javelin finals.
The Franklin Pierce track and field team will be back in action next weekend at the Jim Sheehan Invite hosted by Fitchburg State.
