NEW HAVEN, Conn. (5/2/26) - Franklin Pierce closed out the NE10 Outdoor Championships with a strong Day Two performance to secure a second-place team finish with 129 points, narrowly ahead of third-place Saint Anselm (127) and trailing only Southern Connecticut State.
The Ravens were powered by a dominant showing in the distance events on Saturday, highlighted by a 1-2-3 finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
Sam Fortin captured the conference title with a first-place finish (10 points), followed by
Gunner Currier in second (8 points) and
John Viens in third (6 points), while
Trevor Maheu added a fifth-place finish (4 points).
Franklin Pierce added another podium finish in the throws, as
Jah'rece Matthews placed third in the discus to earn six points, while
Seamus Considine added three more points with a sixth-place finish. In the triple jump,
Anthony Johnson contributed a third-place finish (6 points).
On the track,
Javon Stigler added four points with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, while the Ravens picked up key relay points, including a fourth-place finish in the 4x100 relay (4 points) and a sixth-place finish in the 4x400 relay (3 points).
Additional scoring came from
Connor Wilcox, who placed fourth in the 5000 meters (5 points), and
Noah Roberts, who added a fifth-place finish (4 points).
