NEW HAVEN, Conn. (5/1/26) - Franklin Pierce turned in a strong opening day performance at the NE10 Outdoor Championships, highlighted by seven podium finishes, multiple scoring performances across distance and field events, and several athletes advancing to championship finals. Through the first day of competition, the Ravens find themselves firmly in contention on both sides heading into Saturday.
MEN'S RESULTS
The Franklin Pierce men sit in second place with 64 points through eight scored events, trailing only Southern Connecticut State.
The Ravens were led by a pair of standout performances in the high jump, where
Viktar Kachalouski (Brest, Belarus) cleared 2.00 meters to finish second and earn eight points, while
Carson Thomas (Washington Township, N.J.) matched the height to place third and add six points.
In the distance events, Franklin Pierce showcased impressive depth in the 10,000 meters, placing four scorers.
Connor Wilcox (Colchester, Conn.) led the way with a third-place finish (six points), followed by
Declan Morgan (West Springfield, Mass.) in fourth (five points),
Gunner Currier (Canaan, N.H.) in fifth (four points), and
Liam Doherty (Methuen, Mass.) in seventh (two points).
The Ravens also picked up a podium finish in the hammer throw from
Seamus Considine (South Kingstown, R.I.), who placed third with a mark of 48.64 meters to score six points. Additional field event scoring came from
Nathan Donahue (Middleboro, Mass.), who finished fourth in the long jump (five points), and
Zaire Rosa (Brooklyn, N.Y.), who added two points with a seventh-place finish.
In the pole vault,
Noah Delgado (fifth) and Sam Patton (sixth) combined for seven points, while Antonio Adams Delgado contributed two points in the high jump. The men's 4x800 relay also added five points with a fourth-place finish.
On the track, Franklin Pierce positioned itself well for Day Two, as
Jamel Lee (New Haven, Conn.) advanced to the 100-meter final and
Javon Stigler (Stafford, Conn.) qualified for the 400-meter hurdles final.
WOMEN'S RESULTS
On the women's side, Franklin Pierce sits in fourth place with 38 points through seven scored events.
The Ravens were powered by a dominant showing in the hammer throw, where four athletes scored points.
Abigail Philbin (Narragansett, R.I.), led the group with a runner-up finish (eight points), while
Alexa Sprague (Bennington, Vt.) placed fourth (five points),
Emily Nhun (Biddeford, Maine) finished fifth (four points), and
Ellie Nunes (Woodstock, Conn.) added a sixth-place effort (three points).
Franklin Pierce added two more podium finishes in the field, as
Issys Price (Brockton, Mass.) placed third in the long jump (six points) breaking the school record and
Lizzy Jones (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) finished third in the pole vault (six points).
Additional scoring came from
Lanette StJohn (Hayden, Ala.), who placed fifth in the javelin (four points), while the women's 4x800 relay added two points with a seventh-place finish.
On the track, the Ravens saw several athletes advance to finals. Price and
Sidney Chapman (Gorham, N.H.) both qualified for the 100-meter final, with Chapman also advancing in the 200 meters.
Mimi Ortiz (Nashua, N.H.) earned a spot in the 100-meter hurdles final, while StJohn advanced to the 400-meter hurdles final.
