Women’s Volleyball’s Martina Špacková Named Franklin Pierce University Salutatorian

RINDGE, N.H. (4/30/26) – Franklin Pierce University student-athlete Martina Spackova (Bratislava, Slovakia) has been named the Class of 2026 Salutatorian, recognizing her outstanding academic achievements and leadership both in the classroom and on the court. 

Špacková majored in History and Political Science while also earning a Women, Gender, and Leadership Certificate. She is a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society. In addition to her academic honors, she served as a peer tutor in history and political science at the Student Success Center, supporting fellow students in their academic development. 

Her academic experience extended beyond the classroom, as she participated in press coverage of the 2022 presidential election in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire. She also presented research at multiple conferences and academic showcases, further demonstrating her commitment to scholarship and intellectual engagement. Špacková additionally volunteered with the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), contributing to efforts supporting bone marrow and blood stem cell transplant initiatives. 

On the court, Špacková was a four-year starting member of the Franklin Pierce women's volleyball program and served as team captain during her senior season. She earned multiple College Sports Communicators Academic All-District and Academic All-Conference honors and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. 

Špacková plans to continue pursuing opportunities in international relations, diplomacy, and political science following graduation.
