Ravens Eliminated from NE10 Championship After a Three-Set Sweep

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (11/18/25) - The No. 7 seed Franklin Pierce volleyball team's season came to an end Tuesday after falling to the No. 2 seed Adelphi Panthers, 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-14) in the first round of the Northeast 10 Championship tournament.

Score: Franklin Pierce 0, Adelphi 3

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first set was competitive as both teams traded leads for most of the contest. However, the Panthers broke open the set, taking a 12-12 tie and going on a six-point run. The Ravens attempted to claw back as freshman outside hitter Jayne Hiatt (Granby, CT) and senior outside hitter Avery LeBlanc (Exeter, RI) combined for kills to bring the Ravens within four, but Adelphi's Macarty McQueen racked up kills on the outside and helped lift the Panthers' offense to a first-set win.
  • The Ravens led the second set 8-4, but the Panthers were quick to come back and take control of the set. The Panthers stormed ahead with 16 kills and took advantage of the Ravens' seven attack errors to claim a 10-point lead to win the set.
  • The Panthers then entered the set with all the momentum. After leading 12-7, the Panthers went on a 9-0 run to take a commanding lead. The Ravens fought valiantly to keep their season alive with LeBlanc and senior setter Annaka Lindstrom (Dudley, MA) scoring kills late, but it was not enough to lift the Ravens back into the game and Adelphi secured a spot in the NE10 semifinals.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
  • Senior outside hitter Katholiki Koukia (Rhodes, Greece) led the Ravens with seven kills while McQueen led the Panthers with 11.
  • Adelphi had a better hitting percentage, hitting .360 compared to the Ravens' .092.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The loss ends the Ravens' season. Franklin Pierce finished the regular season 8-15 (4-5 NE10). The Ravens' next match will be at the start of the 2026 season next fall.
