WINTHROP, Mass. (2/25/2025) - Two members of the Franklin Pierce women's ice hockey team picked up weekly honors from the New England Women's Hockey Alliance after a 2-0 week for the Ravens. Caleigh Murphy (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) was named the Player of the Week while Brynn Levinson (Glencoe, Ill.) was named the Rookie of the Week. Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) was also named to the goaltender of the week honor roll.
Murphy tallied one goal and three assists for four points in a weekend sweep of Saint Michael's. On Friday night, the freshman recorded two assists, helping the Ravens secure a 4-0 win against the Purple Knights finishing with a plus-two rating. Murphy followed up with a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-0 victory, once again posting a plus-two rating.
Levinson recorded two goals and one assist for three points in a weekend sweep of Saint Michael's. On Friday, the freshman scored a power-play goal in a 4-0 victory over the Purple Knights. Levinson carried the momentum into Saturday's game with another goal and an assist in the 4-0 win, finishing with a plus-two rating on the weekend.
The Ravens have clinched home playoffs for the 2025 NEWHA quarterfinal round. They will host Post University in a best of three series starting Friday (2/28). Puck-drop is set for 4 PM at the Winchendon School. The two teams will play again Saturday (3/1) at 7:30 PM and if necessary, Sunday (3/2) at 7 PM.
The winner advances to the semifinals, which are set for Wed., Mar. 5 at the site of the higher seed.
