SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (12/6/25) – The Franklin Pierce men's track & field team opened its indoor season with a balanced and commanding performance at the SC Home Opener, collecting multiple event victories and a deep group of top-10 finishes across sprints, distance, jumps, and throws.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The men's sprinters set an early tone in the 60 meters, where junior
Jamel Lee topped all prelim competitors in 7.02 seconds. The Ravens dominated the final with six athletes placing inside the top seven:
Darren Romani (2nd, 7.09),
Sam Stringer (3rd, 7.15),
Bryce Dragsbaek (4th, 7.16),
Javon Stigler (6th, 7.23), and Cristian Reinoso (7th, 7.24).
Reinoso later captured the 200-meter title with a strong early-season mark of 22.47. Dragsbaek (4th, 22.98), Lee (5th, 23.13), Stigler (7th, 23.41), Stringer (8th, 23.54), and
Shawn Mulkerin (9th, 23.55) rounded out a dominant Ravens presence in the event.
Distance standout
Noah Roberts led the Ravens in the mile with a third-place finish in 4:32.32, followed closely by fellow first-year
Gunner Currier (4th, 4:35.59) and
Evan Spence (7th, 4:43.35). In the 3000 meters, sophomores
Sam Fortin (3rd, 9:03.72) and
Declan Morgan (4th, 9:08.14) led the group, with first-year
Trevor Maheu in sixth at 9:32.72. The quartet of Fortin, Roberts, Spence, and Morgan also earned second in the distance medley relay, running 11:09.44.
In the hurdles, sophomore
Noah Delgado placed third in the 60H final at 9.22 after posting a 9.07 prelims time. Junior Sam Patton added an eighth-place finish.
The field events featured several high-impact performances. Sophomore
Carson Thomas won the high jump after clearing 2.02m (6' 7.5"), while Mulkerin added a third-place finish at 1.82m. Delgado also excelled in the pole vault, placing second at 3.55m (11' 7.75"), with Patton in third (3.25m) and Antonio Adams Delgado sixth (2.80m).
The Ravens stacked the long jump leaderboard, led by Antonio Adams Delgado's second-place leap of 6.62m (21' 8.75").
Zaire Rosa placed fourth at 6.43m, Dragsbaek sixth at 6.34m, and first-year Ethan Jean-Marie ninth at 5.47m. The standout jump of the meet came from rookie
Anthony Johnson, who won the triple jump with a mark of 13.98m (45' 10.5").
In the throws, senior Ben Gilbert led the shot put squad with a sixth-place toss of 12.87m (42' 2.75"), while first-year
Seamus Considine highlighted the weight throw by finishing fifth at 14.72m (48' 3.5"). Sophomore
Jack DiStephan produced a 10th-place finish in the weight throw at 12.79m (41' 11.5").
The Ravens are back in action in 2026 They will head to Brandeis on January 17th for the Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational.
