Junior Joe Johnson (Pelham, N.H./UMass Lowell) suffered the loss for the Penmen (0-3), allowing three earned runs on four hits and four walks with five strikeouts in 7.1 innings.

Johnson held Franklin Pierce hitless until the fourth when Chambers broke the ice with a single. Junior Shawn Hayes (Charlton, Mass./Holy Name) reached with a bunt single to extend his hitting streak to 13 games before Duplissie singled in Chambers for the game's first run. Pennell drove in Hayes on a groundout.

The Ravens extended their lead to 4-0 with two more in the eighth. Chambers registered an RBI single before the inning was extended with an error that loaded the bases with two out. Penmen reliever Jon Morse (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) issues a walk to Pennell to score the second run of the frame.
