Ravens Fall to Saint Anselm, 2-0

RINDGE, N.H. (9/23/26) - The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team battled throughout all four quarters Wednesday evening, falling 2-0 to Saint Anselm College at Sodexo Field.

Saint Anselm struck early, finding the back of the cage just 2:07 into the contest to take a 1-0 lead. Despite the early deficit, the Ravens settled in defensively and continued to compete against the Hawks' offensive pressure.

Franklin Pierce goalkeeper Zoe Noorlag stood tall throughout the opening half, making six saves to keep the Ravens within striking distance. The Hawks carried a one-goal advantage into halftime, but Franklin Pierce continued to battle and looked to create opportunities of its own.

Saint Anselm added to its lead in the 39th minute when Meghan Smith scored her second goal of the evening, with Bella DiFiore providing the assist.

The Ravens responded with a strong effort in the final quarter, continuing to compete until the final whistle. Noorlag made three additional saves in the second half, finishing the evening with nine saves to help keep Franklin Pierce within reach.

Franklin Pierce finished the contest with two shots, including one on goal, while Saint Anselm recorded 14 shots and 11 on target. The Ravens also battled defensively throughout the contest, allowing just six penalty corners.

Franklin Pierce will look to bounce back on Sunday, September 27, when the Ravens return to Sodexo Field to host D'Youville. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
