BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Franklin Pierce University field hockey team battled No. 6 Bloomsburg University through 60 scoreless minutes before falling 1-0 in overtime on Sunday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium.
With the loss, the Ravens move to 1-3 on the season.
Bloomsburg applied pressure throughout regulation, but goalkeeper
Zoe Noorlag and the Franklin Pierce defense kept the Huskies off the scoreboard. Noorlag made 17 saves, while
Sabrina Ocampo added a defensive save late in the second quarter.
Ocampo recorded the Ravens' lone shot on goal with seven seconds remaining in regulation, but her attempt was turned away to send the game into overtime.
The Huskies broke the scoreless tie 1:41 into the extra period to secure the victory.
Franklin Pierce returns home to face Mercy University on Saturday, September 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Sodexo Field.
