RINDGE, N.H. (9/12/26) – Franklin Pierce University continued its strong run with a dominant 5-1 victory over the University of Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference Division II women's soccer matchup at Sodexo Field.
The Ravens dedicated today's game to pediatric cancer awareness, showing their support for children and families affected by pediatric cancer. The game was dedicated to Malia Jusczyk and Maddie Schmit. Fans can purchase T-shirts in support of pediatric cancer using this link. All proceeds go to fighting pediatric cancer.
The Ravens came out flying from the opening whistle, scoring three times in the first half to take a commanding 3-0 lead into the break.
Camille Berenguer opened the scoring in the seventh minute, finishing a chance created by Sakurako Hara. Hara then helped set up Franklin Pierce's second goal, as Mikayla Horton found the back of the net in the 13th minute. Just over five minutes later, Aino Martikainen added another goal, with Brigid Moore providing the assist to give the Ravens a three-goal advantage.
Franklin Pierce continued its attacking pressure after halftime, with Martikainen scoring her second goal of the afternoon in the 50th minute off an assist from Kaitlyn Bautista. Berenguer then added her second of the match in the 63rd minute, assisted by McKenna Maguire, pushing the Ravens' lead to 5-0.
Bridgeport managed to get on the scoreboard late in the second half, but Franklin Pierce remained in control to secure the convincing 5-1 victory.
The Ravens now turn their attention to their next matchup as they look to keep flying. Franklin Pierce welcomes Molloy University to Sodexo Field on Wednesday, September 16, with kickoff set for 4 p.m.
