RINDGE, N.H. (9/16/26) - The Franklin Pierce University women's soccer team continued its winning ways on Wednesday afternoon, earning a 2-0 victory over Molloy University at Sodexo Field.
With the win, the Ravens extended their winning streak and remained unbeaten at home.
The two sides battled through a physical opening half, with neither team able to break through as the Ravens and Lions entered halftime scoreless. Franklin Pierce controlled much of the play and created several scoring opportunities, outshooting Molloy 11-2 in the opening 45 minutes.
The Ravens broke through early in the second half when Mikayla Horton found the back of the net in the 51st minute. Aino Martikainen provided the assist, giving Franklin Pierce a 1-0 advantage.
Franklin Pierce continued to apply pressure and doubled its lead in the 72nd minute. Martikainen scored her fifth goal of the season off an assist from Isabella Hernandez Diaz, pushing the Ravens' advantage to 2-0.
After taking the two-goal lead, Franklin Pierce remained in control for the remainder of the match, limiting Molloy's opportunities and seeing out the shutout victory. The Ravens finished with a 21-4 advantage in shots and earned six corner kicks compared to two for the Lions.
The Ravens now turn their attention to the Northeast-10 Conference opener, as Franklin Pierce welcomes Southern Connecticut State University to Sodexo Field on Saturday, Sept. 19, for a noon kickoff.
