CLARION, Pa. - The Franklin Pierce University volleyball team fell to host Clarion University in straight sets in its second match of the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament on Friday afternoon.
With the loss, Franklin Pierce moves to 0-2 on the season.
Clarion controlled the opening two sets, earning victories of 25-15 and 25-12. The Ravens responded with their strongest performance of the match in the third set, but the Golden Eagles held on for a 25-21 victory to complete the sweep.
Maddie Swanson led the Franklin Pierce attack with 11 kills and added two service aces. Marija Miloševic finished with five kills and two blocks, while
Giuliana Pamatat handed out a team-high 20 assists.
Brook Barkley led the Ravens defensively with 17 digs and added four assists. Swanson collected 13 digs, while Pamatat finished with six.
Franklin Pierce concludes the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament tomorrow, August 29th, against Shippensburg University at 9 a.m. and Daemen University at 12 p.m.
