Seventh Inning Surges Secures Doubleheader over Adelphi

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (5/1/26) - The Ravens swept the first two games of their last regular season series in the 2026 campaign. The Ravens were led by strong innings and dominant pitching.

GAME ONE – Franklin Pierce 5, Adelphi 3

The Panthers struck first with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first, but Franklin Pierce answered in the third inning.

With the bases loaded, Alicia Ott (Stockton, Calif.) drove in a run after being hit by a pitch, and Zoey Galindo (Lakewood, Calif.) followed with a sacrifice fly to even the score at 2-2.

Adelphi regained the lead in the fifth, capitalizing on an error to make it 3-2.

In the top of the seventh, Savannah Arreguin (Los Angeles, Calif.) sparked the rally with a single and stolen base. After advancing on an error, Ott delivered a two-run double down the left field line to give Franklin Pierce the lead. Galindo followed with an RBI double to add insurance, pushing the advantage to 5-3, securing game one.

GAME TWO – Franklin Pierce 6, Adelphi 2

The Ravens jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, as Camryn Van Valkenburgh (San Dimas, Calif.) drove in a run and Ott added an RBI double to make it 2-0.

Adelphi answered with two runs in the bottom half to tie the game, but both offenses were held in check over the next five innings.

Georgia Clough (Barriere, British Columbia) dominated in the circle, striking out nine and allowing just one earned run across a complete-game effort.

The game remained tied until the seventh inning, when Franklin Pierce broke through. After reaching on an error, Charlit Hartenstein (Massapequa, N.Y.) came around to score on an RBI single by Van Valkenburgh.

Later in the inning, Ott delivered again with a two-run triple, and Galindo followed with an RBI single to cap a four-run inning to take the game from the Panthers.

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will continue the series against Adelphi tomorrow, May 2nd, starting at 12 PM.
