COLCHESTER, Vt. (4/28/26) — The No. 19 nationally ranked Franklin Pierce softball team continued its dominant stretch on Tuesday, sweeping Saint Michael's in a Northeast 10 doubleheader at Doc Jacobs Field. The Ravens took game one, 4-1, before completing the sweep with a 6-0 shutout in game two.
GAME ONE — Franklin Pierce 4, Saint Michael's 1
Franklin Pierce used a balanced offensive effort and a strong outing in the circle from
Brooke Koehler (Surprise, Ariz.) to open the day with a win. The Ravens plated two runs in the second inning, capitalizing on an error before
Mia Keenan (Fitchburg, Mass.) delivered an RBI single to make it 2-0.
After Saint Michael's answered with a solo home run in the bottom half, the Ravens created separation late.
Alicia Ott (Stockton, Calif) drove in a run in the fifth on a miscue, and later worked a bases-loaded walk in the sixth to extend the lead to 4-1.
Koehler was in control throughout, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run on five hits and striking out eight.
At the plate,
Maisie Lerette (New Gloucester, Maine) led the way with a pair of hits, while Ott finished with two RBIs and reached base three times.
GAME TWO — Franklin Pierce 6, Saint Michael's 0
The Ravens wasted no time in the nightcap, scoring twice in the first inning behind RBI efforts from Ott and
Zoey Galindo (Lakewood, Calif.). A three-run third inning broke the game open, highlighted by a two-run single from Ott as Franklin Pierce built a commanding 5-0 advantage.
They added an insurance run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from
Camryn Van Valkenburgh (San Dimas, Calif.) to cap the scoring.
Georgia Clough (Barriere, British Columbia) was dominant in the circle, spinning a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts to secure the sweep.
Offensively, Ott paced the Ravens again with three RBIs, while
Savannah Arreguin (Las Angeles, Calif.) recorded two hits and scored a run. The Ravens also applied pressure on the bases, swiping multiple bags throughout the contest.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce returns to action this weekend with a key Northeast 10 series with Adelphi. The Ravens will travel to New York for the four game series, Friday.
