Franklin Pierce Sweeps Assumption, Breaks Program Record for Wins

WORCESTER, Mass. (4/22/26) - In the second NE10 doubleheader of the season against the Assumption University Greyhounds, the Ravens were able to sweep the series with strong pitching and big innings.

GAME ONE – Franklin Pierce 3, Assumption 2

The Greyhounds opened up the doubleheader with the first score of the afternoon after Kaylee Lacomb stole home in the second inning.

In the fourth inning, Savannah Arreguin (Los Angles, Calif.) capitalized on a passed ball by the Greyhounds catcher, making her way across the plate.

Charlit Hartenstein (Massapequa, N.Y.) gave the Ravens the lead in the sixth, hitting an 2-RBI double to left field, sending in Taylor Ellis (Crandall, Texas) and Arreguin for two more runs.

Later that inning, the Greyhounds would cut the deficit in half by scoring on an error, but it wouldn't be enough to regain control of the game.

Georgia Clough (Barriere, British Columbia) threw all 7 innings for the Ravens, only allowing 4 hits, 1 earned run and struck out 5 batters.

GAME TWO – Franklin Pierce 6, Assumption 2

In game two of the double header, the Ravens recorded an offensive second inning to put them up early over the Greyhounds.

Camryn Van Valkenburgh (San Dimas, Calif.) singled up the middle of the field, sending in Danica Nielsen (Oceanside, Calif.) and Maisie Lerette (New Gloucester, Maine). Zoey Galindo (Lakewood, Calif.) would then hit an RBI single, allowing Van Valkenburgh to cross the plate.

Hartenstein would move on an error from the Greyhounds, scoring Arreguin for the fourth run of the inning.

Assumption would score one run in the third, but the Ravens would extend their lead in the sixth when Galindo and Hartenstein both recorded RBI hits.

The Greyhounds would try to come back in the seventh but were only able to put one more run on the scoreboard.

Raylee Gilbert (Waterville, Maine), Brooke Koehler (Surprise, Ariz.), and Kennedy Morris (Stafford, Conn.) struck out 6 batters all together, with Koehler taking the win and Morris being credited for the save.

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will play against Southern New Hampshire University for a four-game series, starting on Saturday, April 25th at 12:00 PM.
