Ravens Split Conference Doubleheader with Saint Anselm

RINDGE, N.H. (4/18/26) - Franklin Pierce split their doubleheader with Saint Anselm on Saturday, taking game one behind a complete-game effort by Stephen Bangs before falling in the second game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Game 1

  • Stephen Bangs started on the mound for the Ravens, holding the Hawks off the board through two innings, and eventually pitching a full game. Franklin Pierce got on the board first in the top of the third with a 2 RBI double to right center field by Curt Boyd which scored Andreas Boglis and Shane Starr who had each reached on singles.
  • Saint Anselm answered in the bottom of the inning with a RBI single to cut their deficit to 2-1.
  • In the top of the fourth inning, Joey Acker reached on an error to score Jacob Roque from second base who reached on a single, to extend the lead to 3-1.
  • The Hawks added on their final run of the game in the fifth inning on an RBI ground out. 
  • In the final inning of game one, a sacrifice fly by Boyd brought in pinch runner Jayden Villanueva for the final run of the game, finalizing the score at 4-2.

Game 2

  • Franklin Pierce scored early with two runs in the first inning. A sacrifice fly by Rafael Rodriguez Rosa scored Andreas Boglis for the first run, followed by a second sac fly by Curt Boyd to score Shane Starr. The Hawks answered with eight runs of their own through the bottom of the third inning to take a 8-2 lead going into the fourth inning.
  • Neither team scored again until the fifth inning, when Starr scored on a second Boyd sacrifice fly for the third Ravens run of the game. Saint Anselm brought in two more runs of their own in the bottom of the inning for the 11-4 lead.
  • Saint Anselm kept the Ravens off the board in the sixth inning and added two additional runs.
  • With bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning, Bryan Sanders II reached on a hit by pitch to bring in Rafael Rodriguez Rosa for the fifth Ravens run. Just after, Ivan Arias scored off a single by Boglis, bringing the score to 14-6.
  • The Hawks brought in two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, ending the game early, 16-6.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • Stephen Bangs pitched a full 7.0 innings, striking out 3, and allowing only two earned runs on five hits.
  • Jacob Roque lead the Ravens offense in game one, going 2-3 at the plate with one run scored.
  • Andreas Boglis went 4-5 in game two with 2 RBI and one run scored.
