COLCHESTER, VT. (4/22/2026) - Franklin Pierce baseball jumped out early and traded leads multiple times behind a big day from Curt Boyd, but Saint Michael's pulled away late to win the game 11-8, Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Franklin Pierce started scoring early, bringing in two runs on a Curt Boyd double in the first inning to score Joey Acker and Andreas Boglis to take the 2-0 lead. Cage Thompson started on the mound for the Ravens, keeping the Purple Knights off the board through two innings.
- A solo home run in the bottom of the third inning cut the Saint Michael's deficit to one run.
- In the top of the fourth inning, a fielder's choice brought Ivan Arias to first base, advancing Boyd to third, who then scored on a throwing error by the Purple Knights for the third Ravens run of the game, bringing the score to 3-1.
- Saint Michael's evened the score and then eventually took the lead, 5-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
- Franklin Pierce regained the lead, 6-5 in the top of the fifth inning. A sacrifice fly to center field by Rafael Rodriguez Rosa brought Boglis across the plate for the fourth run, followed by a second Boyd double, 2 RBI, to score Acker and Shane Starr for the lead.
- In the bottom of the sixth inning, Saint Michael's tacked on three more runs, taking the 8-6 lead.
- The Ravens battled back in the top of the seventh, with a Rodriguez Rosa single so score Starr, and a Boyd sacrifice fly to score Acker, tying the game at 8 a piece. In the bottom of the inning, however, the Purple Knights tacked on three more runs on a series of errors and a base hit for the 11-8 lead.
- Strong pitching and solid Ravens defense kept the game scoreless through the final innings, finalizing the game at 11-8 Saint Michael's.
