WORCESTER, Mass. (4/11/26) – The Franklin Pierce women's tennis team battled in Northeast 10 action on Saturday afternoon but ultimately fell to Assumption by a 5-2 final.
Franklin Pierce showed strength in doubles play, claiming two of the three matches to take an early edge. The duo of Candela Tortosa (Valencia, Spain) and Ines Gabarro (Barcelona, Spain) secured a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles, while Sara Gonzalez (Bogota, Colombia) and Ana Munoz (Anzoategui, Venezuela) followed with a 6-3 victory in the No. 3 slot.
In singles play, the Ravens picked up their lone point from Gabarro (Barcelona, Spain) at No. 1, where she delivered a straight-set victory, 6-2, 6-4. However, Assumption responded by winning the remaining five singles matches to secure the team result.
