Strong Second-Half Effort Highlights Senior Day Battle

RINDGE, N.H. (4/11/26) - Franklin Pierce women's lacrosse honored its senior class on Saturday afternoon, battling throughout before falling to Saint Anselm, 15-9, in Northeast 10 action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Franklin Pierce opened the scoring early, with Courtney Hannes (Tyngsborough, Mass.) and Erin McIlroy (Newfields, N.H.) each finding the back of the net to give the Ravens a 2-1 lead midway through the first quarter. Saint Anselm responded with three consecutive goals to close the period and take a 4-2 lead.
  • The Hawks extended their advantage in the second quarter, scoring six goals while limiting the Ravens to just one. McIlroy added her second of the game in the frame, but Saint Anselm took a 10-3 lead into halftime.
  • Out of the break, Franklin Pierce showed resilience. Hannes netted two goals in the third quarter, while Olivia Robb (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and Kelci Waters (Milford, N.H.) also contributed to a four-goal period for the Ravens. Franklin Pierce outscored Saint Anselm 4-3 in the quarter to cut the deficit to 13-7 heading into the final frame.
  • In the fourth, McIlroy and Robb each added goals, but the early gap proved too much to overcome as Saint Anselm secured the 15-9 victory.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
  • Franklin Pierce was led offensively by Courtney Hannes and Erin McIlroy, who each recorded three goals.
  • Rachel Taylor (Saratoga Springs, Utah) paced the Ravens defensively with six ground balls, earning her 100th career ground ball while goalkeeper Olivia Godwin (Hanson, Mass.) made nine saves in net.
