Ravens Take Close Game at Saint Michael’s, 12-11

COLCHESTER, Vt. (3/4/2026) - Franklin Pierce women's lacrosse took their second win of the season with a one point lead against the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's College.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first five minutes of play saw the two teams trade goals back and forth, with Saint Michael's taking the first goal of the game, answered by Kelci Waters off an assist from Olivia Robb. Following another quick Purple Knights goal, the Ravens netted four of their own from Courtney Hannes with a man-up advantage, Alyssa Brodeur, Erin McIlroy, and a second Waters goal. Saint Michael's however, was able to net three of their own going into the first break tied at 5.
  • The first half of the second period went scoreless, until Robb netted her second off an assist from Julianna Lanzillo. The Purple Knights quickly halted the Ravens' lead with two goals of their own, putting Franklin Pierce behind 7-6. In the final three minutes of the first half, Robb scored her second goal, followed by a Saint Michael's goal which was quickly answered by Maura Cogavin's first goal of the game, leading the two teams tied at 8 going into half time.
  • In the third period, Saint Michael's scored first, but was followed by Cogavin's second goal, and Robb's hat trick goal from Bella Adams that would send the Ravens into the final period with the 10-9 lead. Despite a man-up opportunity, the Purple Knights could not regain the lead in the third period.
  • McIlroy netted her second of the game to start scoring in the final quarter off an assist from Robb, but was answered by two Purple Knights goals to tie the game at 11 in the final five minutes of play. With just over a minute to play Hannes scored the final goal of the game off a pass from Lanzillo, taking the 12-11 lead. In the final ten seconds, Saint Michael's drew a free position shot which just after going in would be called back for a crease violation, finalizing the score at 12-11 Franklin Pierce.
