Ravens Explode for 28 Runs in Doubleheader Sweep of AIC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (3/27/26) – The Franklin Pierce softball team delivered a dominant offensive performance on Friday afternoon, sweeping AIC in a Northeast 10 Conference doubleheader at Judy Groff Field. The Ravens won game one, 11-0, before taking game two, 17-1 in five innings to remain unbeaten in NE10 play.

Franklin Pierce combined for 28 runs on 27 hits across the two games while the pitching staff allowed just one run on the day.

Game One – Franklin Pierce 11, AIC 0 (5 inn.)
Franklin Pierce opened the doubleheader with an 11-0 victory behind a strong performance in the circle from Georgia Clough (Barriere, British Columbia) and consistent offense throughout the lineup.

The Ravens scored two runs in the second inning when Maisie Lerette (New Gloucester, Maine) doubled home a run and Camryn Van Valkenburgh (San Dimas, Calif.) drove in another. Franklin Pierce added two more runs in the third inning on a two-RBI triple from Alicia Ott (Stockton, Calif.) to extend the lead to 4-0.

The game broke open in the fourth inning as the Ravens plated five runs on five hits, including RBI hits from Charlit Hartenstein (Massapequa, N.Y.), Delaney Duford (Concord, N.H.), and Lerette. Franklin Pierce added two more runs in the fifth inning to secure the run-rule victory.

Lerette led the offense with three RBIs, while Ott drove in two and Van Valkenburgh added two RBIs. Clough earned the win with a complete-game two-hit shutout, striking out six.

Game Two – Franklin Pierce 17, AIC 1 (5 inn.)
Franklin Pierce continued its offensive momentum in game two, scoring in every inning on the way to a 17-1 win in five innings.

The Ravens jumped out early with runs in the first and second innings and continued to build the lead with multiple runs in the third and fourth before a five-run fifth inning sealed the victory. The big hit came in the fifth inning when Lerette hit a grand slam as part of a five-RBI game.

Hartenstein added two RBIs, Alicia Ott drove in a run and scored three times, and multiple Ravens recorded multi-hit performances including Zoey Galindo (Lakewood, Calif.), Savannah Arreguin (Los Angeles, Calif.), and Mia Keenan (Fitchburg, Mass.).

Kennedy Morris (Stafford, Conn.) earned the win in the circle, while Raylee Gilbert (Waterville, Maine) and Danica Nielsen (Oceanside, Calif.) combined in relief to hold American International to just one run.

Franklin Pierce improved to 16-2 overall and 6-0 in Northeast 10 play with the doubleheader sweep. They look to continue their undefeated NE10 play as they return to Springfield on Sunday, March 29, for another doubleheader with the Yellow Jackets beginning at 12 p.m.
