Ravens Split Series with Pace

RINDGE, N.H. (3/21/2026) - Franklin Pierce baseball took their second win of the series against Pace University in game one of the double header Saturday afternoon, 4-1. The Ravens weren't able to hold onto their lead in the second game, falling 5-6 to the Setters for the series split.

GAME ONE

  • Franklin Pierce was able to keep Pace off the board through four scoreless innings with Tommy Sullivan on the mound, who let up only one hit and the lone unearned Setters run in 4.1 innings pitched.
  • The Ravens took an early two run lead in the first inning. Rafael Rodriguez Rosa doubled to center field scoring Joey Acker unearned, who had reached first on a walk. Later in the inning, Andreas Boglis sent the ball to center field to get on base, scoring Rodriguez Rosa.
  • In the second inning, a passed ball allowed Brycen Tetler to score from third base, extending the lead to 3-0.
  • The Setters scored in the top of the fifth inning to bring the score to 3-1. At the bottom of the inning, Boglis sent a sacrifice fly to the center fielder, scoring Curt Boyd for the final run of the game.
  • Lane LeClair and Chase Philibotte were able to keep Pace off the board through the final 2.2 innings to take the win.

GAME TWO

  • After getting through the top of the first inning scoreless, the Ravens were able to take their second early lead of the day. A single by Boglis sent Boyd home for the first run of the game.
  • Pace tied the game at one in the top of the second inning, and was able to keep Franklin Pierce off the board in the bottom of the inning.
  • In the third inning, Boyd doubled to regain the lead bringing in Shane Starr. 
  • The fourth inning saw an attempt to steal second base by Colin Hoffman, resulting in a run down between first and second, that allowed Boglis to score from third, giving the Ravens the 4-1 lead going into the fifth inning.
  • Acker hit a solo home run in the fifth inning to extend the Ravens' lead to 5 runs.
  • Pace tacked on two runs of their own in the seventh inning to close the gap to 3-5. Acker then crossed the plate on a passed ball for the final Franklin Pierce run of the game.
  • The Setters found momentum in the final inning of the weekend, adding two more runs that the Ravens were not able to answer, finalizing the score at 6-5.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • Jacob Roque went 3-3 in game one, and 4-7 on the day.
  • The Ravens had four extra base hits - three doubles and one home run.
  • Joey Acker stole two bases, both in game one.
  • The pitching staff totaled 15 strikeouts on the day.
  • Stephen Bangs pitched 6.0 innings in game two, letting up only two earned runs and three walks while recording three strikeouts. 

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce baseball continues conference play next weekend at Assumption. The four game series will begin on Saturday, March 28 in Worcester, Mass. with the first pitch of game one set for 12:00 PM.
