Softball Takes Two from Bentley on Day One of Series

RINDGE, N.H. (3/20/26) – The Franklin Pierce softball team opened Northeast 10 play in dominant fashion on Friday afternoon, sweeping a doubleheader against Bentley at Melissa Bisaccia Field. The Ravens took game one, 7-5, before erupting offensively in a 13-3 run-rule victory in game two.

GAME ONE – Franklin Pierce 7, Bentley 5
Franklin Pierce jumped out early and held off a late Bentley push to secure the opener. The Ravens plated two runs in each of the first three innings to build a 6-2 advantage, highlighted by a two-RBI triple from Zoey Galindo (Lakewood, Calif.) and RBI hits from Delaney Duford (Concord, N.H.) and Alicia Ott (Stockton, Calif.).

Maisie Lerette (New Gloucester, Maine) added to the lead in the fifth inning with a solo home run, which proved to be the difference as Bentley rallied for three runs in the fifth to cut the deficit to one.

In the circle, Georgia Clough (Barriere, British Columbia) earned the win after striking out seven across 4.2 innings, while Raylee Gilbert (Waterville, Maine) closed the door with 2.1 scoreless innings to record the save.

Offensively, the Ravens totaled 12 hits, with Lerette (2-for-2, HR, 2 RBI), Duford (2-for-4, RBI), and Ott (2-for-2, 2 RBI) leading the way.

GAME TWO – Franklin Pierce 13, Bentley 3 (5 inn.)
The Ravens wasted no time in game two, exploding for seven runs in the first inning and never looking back. Duford got the scoring started with a two-RBI triple, followed by RBI hits from Ott and Taylor Ellis (Crandall, Texas) as Franklin Pierce sent 11 batters to the plate.

Franklin Pierce added six more runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from Duford and a solo shot from Ott, pushing the lead to 13-2.

Duford led the offensive surge with four RBI, while Ott (2 RBI), Ellis (3 RBI), and Camryn Van Valkenburgh (San Dimas, Calif.) (2 RBI) all contributed to the 12-hit performance.

Kennedy Morris (Stafford, Conn.) earned the win in the circle, allowing just three runs (two earned) over five innings.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce and Bentley will wrap up the weekend series tomorrow with another doubleheader, set for 12:00 p.m. in Rindge.
