Ravens Drop Conference Opener Against Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. (3/14/26) - In their first conference game of the season, the men's lacrosse team lost to Bentley University 5-12 after a strong offensive third period, led by 8 unanswered goals from the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Franklin Pierce and Bentley played through a scoreless first period before Bentley struck first early in the second.  
  • Bentley added another man-up goal to take a 2–0 lead before Franklin Pierce got on the board when Jackson Philion (Charlton, Mass.) converted on an extra-man opportunity with an assist from Connor Henchey (Bellingham, Mass.), cutting the deficit to 2–1 at halftime. 
  • Bentley pulled away in the third quarter with a dominant offensive stretch, scoring eight goals in the period to build a 10–1 advantage heading into the fourth. 
  • Franklin Pierce responded with a strong final quarter, scoring four goals. Philion added two more goals in the period to complete a hat trick, while Ethan Cote (North Smithfield, R.I.) and Aidan Gibbons (Billerica, Mass.) also found the back of the net. 
  • The Ravens' last minute efforts couldn't make up for the strong third period from Bentley, handing their first conference game to the Falcons.  

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS 

  • Sean Cote (Goffstown, N.H.) made 17 saves. 
  • The Falcons outshot the Ravens 29-16. 
  • Philion led the team with four points. 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens return to Sodexo Field on Tuesday, March 17th, at 4:00 PM for a conference matchup against Pace.
