Ravens Fall to Bentley in Conference Double Header

Rindge, NH. (3/14/26) - Franklin Pierce had their home opener and conference play at Dr. Pappas Field against Bentley on Saturday. The Ravens lost both games in the double header to start the series, dropping game one to the Falcons 22-9, and game two 6-3.

Game One - Franklin Pierce 9, Bentley 22

Franklin Pierce opened the day with a five-run first inning featuring a three-run home run from Evan Blake. 

Bentley continued to accumulate runs, tying the game 5-5 in the third inning.

In the fourth, Bentley's Tommy Bolton singled to right field, bringing in David Vanderzouwen to take the lead 6-5. 

The Ravens proceeded to give up 14 runs in the 6th inning to the Falcons, making the score 20-5.

Just the next inning, Pierce answered in runs thanks to a three-run home run from Rafael Rodriguez driving in Curt Boyd and Ivan Arias.

The Ravens scored once more in the 8th with Joey Acker scoring off of Andreas Boglis walked, leaving the score 22-9.

Bentley proceeded to score two more runs in the ninth off of a fly ball from Tommy Bolton and an unearned run from David Vanderzouwen, with the final score as 22-9.

At the plate, Pierce totaled 13 hits, 9 RBIs, and drew 9 walks. The Ravens' pitching staff accumulated eight strikeouts over 58 batters faced.

Game Two - Franklin Pierce 3, Bentley 6

Bentley struck first in the third inning of game two, taking an early lead to put the Falcons ahead 1-0, and then extended their lead to 3-0 in the top of the fourth inning before the Ravens could get on the board.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Shane Starr reached first on an error by the second baseman, scoring Curt Boyd for the first Ravens run of the game.

Bentley tacked on two more in the fifth before the Ravens could add any more runs. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Ivan Arias doubled to right field, sending Joey Acker across the plate for their second run. Rafael Rodriguez Rosa tripled shortly after to score Arias bringing the score to 3-5.

Bentley would add on one more run in the seventh inning to finalize the 6-3 score.

At the plate, Franklin Pierce totaled nine hits with three RBIs, and Joey Acker drew the lone walk for the Ravens.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will complete their conference series against Bentley tomorrow afternoon at Dr. Pappas Field. First pitch is set for 12:00 and 3:00 for games three and four, respectively.
