Softball Sweeps Final Two Games at THE Spring Games

BARTOW, Fla. (3/13/26) - Franklin Pierce opened Friday morning at THE Spring Games with a match-up against Lake Erie College, defeating the Storm 8-0 in six innings. The Ravens finished their run at tournament against Grand Valley State University, taking the game 1-0.

Game One - Franklin Pierce 8, Lake Erie 0

Franklin Pierce opened the day with a dominant performance in the circle from Daniel Nielson, who earned the win after throwing five scoreless innings. Nielsen allowed just two hits while striking out three before Kennedy Morris came on in relief to throw a scoreless sixth inning and secure the shutout. 

The Ravens struck early with a three-run first inning. Savannah Arreguin led off with a bunt single and later scored on an RBI groundout from Charlit Hartenstein. Delaney Duford followed with an RBI triple before Alicia Ott added an RBI single to take the 3-0 lead in the first inning. 

Franklin Pierce added four more runs in the second inning. Hartenstein drove in a run on a single, Duford lifted a sacrifice fly, and Mia Keenan hit a two-run double, extending the lead to 7-0. The Ravens tacked on a final run in the sixth when Arreguin reached on a Lake Erie error that allowed Camryn Van Valkenburgh to score.

At the plate, Franklin Pierce totaled 12 hits for the win. Duford and Van Valkenburgh each recorded two hits, while Arreguin and Zoey Galdino also added multiple-hit performances. The ravens stole four bases in the victory, as well.

Game Two - Franklin Pierce 1, Grand Valley State 0

Franklin Pierce closed out the day with a tight 1-0 victory over Grand Valley State, led by strong pitching performances. Raylee Gilbert earned the win in the circle after tossing four scoreless innings, allowing three hits while letting up one walk. Kennedy Morris entered in relief and threw three shutout innings, allowing one hit while striking out one to secure the victory.

The Ravens broke the scoreless game in the top of the fifth inning when Hartenstein found an RBI single to center field, scoring Van Vulkenburgh, giving Franklin Pierce the 1-0 lead.

Grand Valley State recorded only four hits on the day in 23 at bats. Morris closed the game in the seventh inning to complete the win.

At the plate, Franklin Pierce totaled five hits. Arreguin, Andie Anderson, Hartenstein, and Galdino each recorded hits for the Ravens, while Hartenstein drove in the game's lone run. The Ravens also played clean defensively, recording no errors in the field.
