HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In the first period, the Skyhawks laid on the offensive pressure, outshooting the Ravens 14 to 5. However, Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) held strong in front of the net.
  • In the second period, Caleigh Murphy (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) struck first for the Ravens, finding the back of the net from a pass from Hailey Anderson (Greer, S.C.).
  • The Ravens would add on to their lead with 2 goals in a two-minute span from McKenzie Rich (Rochester, Minn.) and Sydnee Wilson (Port Moody, B.C.), marking their first goals of the season.
  • The Skyhawks were able to shave off some of the deficit before the end of the period with a goal from Bella Sacca.
  • The Ravens would extend their lead early in the third period. On a power play opportunity, Anderson would score a goal of her own. Less than a minute later, Ashley Wright (Milford, Conn.) would score, bringing the score to 5-1.
  • The Skyhawks would score again with one second left in the game, but it wouldn't be enough, giving the Ravens an impressive conference sweep on the weekend.

  • Hertl made 41 saves.
