HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Franklin Pierce opened the scoring in the first period on the power play. In the seventh minute, Isaiah Frankel finished on a pass from John Sterling and Todd Branish to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead. The Ravens took four man-up opportunities in the first period, but would not find the back of the net again, going into the first intermission with the 1-0 lead.
  • Saint Michael's responded in the second period with a power play goal of their own to tie the game at 1. The Purple Knights found themselves with three power play opportunities, but only capitalized on the second. They later added a second goal to lead 2-1 going into the final period of play.

This was quickly followed by several Ravens' penalties, but did not come unanswered. The Ravens looked to come back with a late goal by Douglas McGuire in the 17th minute, assisted by John Sterling and Giovanni Ursillo. The Purple Knights seal the 4-2 decision in the final thirty second of play with an even strength goal.
