HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens came out hot in the first period, taking the first lead of the game in just 44 seconds. Mario Paganini would find the puck on the goal line off a long pass from Cole Madzey. Paganini passed to Josh Tisdell at the blue line who would take a shot past the goaltender, giving Franklin Pierce the 1-0 lead.
  • Salve Regina evened the score in the 19th minute of the period to go into the first intermission tied at 1.
  • The second period saw four Seahawks goals despite 14 saves from Franklin Pierce goaltender Riley Mastowski. Salve Regina led the Ravens going into the final period 5-1.
  • Early in the third period, the Seahawks sent a player into the box for tripping, giving the Ravens a power play opportunity that they weren't able to capitalize on. The remainder of the game saw the two teams trade penalties back and forth. With three power plays a piece in the final 20 minutes, the Ravens would not find the back of the net, though Salve Regina would capitalize on one man-up opportunity, as well as finish on a short-handed goal. With these two goals, and one additional, Salve Regina would finalize the game at 8-1.
