HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In the sixth minute of the first period, Sam Mitchell finished a setup on the right side of the net from Keenan Howard and Matthew Frett, giving the Ravens an early 1-0 lead.
  • MCLA responded later in the first period, evening the score at 1-1 with an even-strength goal before the end of the frame.
  • Just over three minutes into the second period, John Sterling restored the Ravens' lead, scoring off assists from Todd Branish and Douglas McGuire to make it 2-1.
  • The Trailblazers answered once again midway through the second, tying the game at 2 a piece.
  • In the 16th minute of the second period, Isaiah Frankel scored his first career goal off assist from Drew White and Thomas Perivolotis. Perivolotis sent the puck past the net to find White, who sent a short pass to Frankel for him to dump over the goaltender, sending the Ravens ahead 3-2 going into the second intermission.
  • MCLA opened the third period with a power-play goal to tie the game at 3-3.
  • The Ravens responded yet again in the eleventh minute of the third on a power-play of their own. Finding their way out of traffic in front of the net, Nick Fish found Mario Paganini who would regain the Ravens' lead, 4-3.
  • With just over two minutes to play, Mitchell collected the puck in front of the net, dumping it in to give Franklin Pierce the 5-3 victory.
