Ravens Defeat Post on Senior Day, 4-2

WINCHENDON, MASS. (1/31/2026) - Franklin Pierce men's ice hockey came away with a key win over Post University in a 4-2 NE10 matchup on Senior Day. The Ravens broke a first period deficit and capitalized to secure the win at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Franklin Pierce struck first in the opening period on a goal by Giovanni Ursillo, after receiving the puck from John Sterling past the last Post defender. Ursillo took on the goaltender to find the back of the net finding the 1-0 lead. The Eagles would find two goals before the end of the first, going into the first intermission 2-1 Post.
  • The Ravens came out with fire in the second period, evening the score just 18 seconds in on a power play. Austin Pick received the puck at the blue line from Nick Fish and took a shot. Mario Paganini was able to tip the puck past the Eagles goaltender for the Ravens second goal of the game. The remainder of the second period would remain scoreless as the teams traded penalties.
  • In the fifth minute of the third when Pick found the puck behind the net in traffic and found Paganini's stick who made his way past the goalie for his second goal of the game.
  • In an effort to even the score, the Eagles pulled their goalie in the final minutes of the third period. With 30 seconds on the clock, Austin Pick would beat the last defender to finalize the score at 4-2, off of consistent passing from Todd Branish and Paganini.
