Ravens Drop Game Against LIU in OT

WINCHENDON, Mass. (1/30/26) - In a close matchup against Long Island University, the Ravens were able to push the game into overtime after a second period goal from Maggie Korneta (Naperville, Ill.). However, a Sharks goal in OT would hand the Ravens a loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • LIU struck first in the opening minutes of the game, when Eliza Quackenbush found Evelyn Latka in front of the net, who was able to fire a shot past Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.). 
  • In the second period, Maggie Korneta (Naperville, Ill.) would carry the puck all the way down the ice, finding the corner of the net for the equalizer.  
  • The Ravens would have two power play opportunities in the third period but were unable to produce any goals for the lead, sending the game into overtime.  
  • Despite a few chances for the Ravens in OT, Drew Dyczkowski would score on Rylee Eno (Uxbridge, Ontario), ending the game in a 1-2 loss. 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS 

  • The Ravens outshot the Sharks 38 to 31. 
  • Bo Dean (Toronto, Ontario) would lead the team with 7 shots. 
  • Hertl recorded 13 saves while Eno recorded 16. 
  • The Sharks went 0/4 on powerplays while the Ravens went 0/3. 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens play against LIU again tomorrow, January 31st at 3 PM, looking to split the series with the Sharks.
