WORCESTER, Mass. (1/24/26) – The Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team kept things tight through the first 20 minutes, but a strong second-half surge from Assumption proved decisive as the Ravens fell, 81–66, in Saturday afternoon NE10 action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Franklin Pierce traded punches early and held a four-point lead midway through the first half, but Assumption used a late surge to take a 30–27 edge into the break.
- Kayvontay Williams (Queensvillage, N.Y. ) kept the Ravens in rhythm throughout the opening half, pouring in 16 points before the break. Raymond Baka added timely buckets inside, and the Ravens generated early transition chances, scoring eight points on the break in the first 20 minutes.
- Assumption opened the second half on a decisive run, scoring 9 straight and stretching the lead to double digits behind their pressure defense and transition scoring. Despite strong stretches from Williams, Raymond Baka (Atlanta, Ga.), and Anthony Parker (Middletown, Conn.), the Greyhounds' 53-point second half proved too much to overcome.
- The Ravens continued to attack the paint and cut the deficit to 12 multiple times, including a Parker three and a pair of baskets from Baka, but Assumption remained efficient at the rim and sealed the result late at the line.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
- Raymond Baka recorded his fourth career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
- The Ravens shot 45 percent from the field and produced 18 fast-break points while forcing Assumption into 10 turnovers.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce men's basketball will return to action on Tuesday (1/27) for a 7:30 tip-off at Adelphi.
