Ravens fall to Assumption, 0-2

WINCHENDON, Mass. (1/23/26) - The Ravens went against Assumption University in a NEWHA conference matchup. The Greyhounds were able to hand the Ravens a 2-0 loss, their first one in 11 games.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Assumption opened the scoring early in the first period, as Natalie Joiner netted the eventual game-winner after the Ravens lost the puck. Despite multiple scoring chances throughout the period, the Ravens were held off the scoreboard, trailing 1–0 after 20 minutes. 
  • The second period saw Franklin Pierce continue to battle, generating opportunities at even strength while also killing off Assumption power plays. Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) kept the Ravens within striking distance with several key saves, but the game remained 1–0 heading into the final period. 
  • In the third, Assumption extended its lead with a short-handed goal. Franklin Pierce earned three power-play chances in the period and pulled the goalie late in search of a breakthrough, but Jadyn Weiser stood firm, turning aside all shots to secure the shutout. 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS 

  • The Greyhounds outshot the Ravens 45 to 32. 
  • Hertl made 43 saves.  
  • Caleigh Murphy (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) led the team in shots.
