HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first period, the Penmen were able to find their way past Franklin Pierce and Riley Mastowski three times before the Ravens were able to capitalize. Shortly after, Jeremy Connor took the net for Franklin Pierce. With one minute remaining before the break, Mario Paganini sent the puck to Nick Fish at the middle of the blue line. Fish quickly sent the puck to McGuire who one-timed the puck past the Penmen goaltender for FPU's first goal of the game.
- In the ninth minute of the second period, back-to-back shots from Austin Pick and Paganini led to a collected rebound by McGuire who fired past the keeper for his second goal of the game, cutting the Ravens' deficit to one goal.
- Less than two minutes later, Giovanni Ursillo sent the puck to Josh Tisdell on the left side of the net, who sent the puck across the ice. John Sterling was able to get a piece of it, deflecting the puck past the SNHU goaltender, evening the game at 3-3 going into the final intermission.
- The Ravens gained possession to start the third period on a faceoff win to McGuire who sent the puck to Todd Branish. Branish sent a long pass to Pick who collected the puck past the last SNHU defender, pulled around the goaltender, and set the Ravens ahead 4-3. A combination of strong Ravens defense and 14 saves by Connor would seal the victory for Franklin Pierce.
