Ravens Outlast St. Anselm in High-Scoring NE10 Battle, 89–85

RINDGE, N.H. (1/17/26) – The Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team picked up their first Northeast 10 Conference win of the season on Saturday afternoon, knocking off region rival Saint Anselm College, 89–85, in a back-and-forth matchup at The Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Franklin Pierce came out firing, building an early 11-point lead behind hot starts from Anthony Parker (Middletown, Conn.) and Enmanuel Ferreras (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic ). Ferreras repeatedly attacked the rim, scoring 15 first-half points, while Parker knocked down four threes before halftime. The Ravens took a 44–42 lead into the locker room after the Hawks closed on a late run. 
  • The second half featured eight lead changes and constant momentum swings. FPU surged ahead 60–56 after a Ferreras finish through traffic, then extended the lead to 73–66 on a transition three from Erick Perez (Loiza, Puerto Rico) with 8:40 to play. 
  • Saint Anselm responded, tying the game at 79–79 with just over four minutes remaining. Parker answered with the play of the night—burying a three at 3:24 to pull the Ravens within one, then drilling another from deep off a turnover at 2:33 to give Franklin Pierce an 85–83 lead.
  • Ferreras finished a key layup off a turnover with 1:54 remaining to make it 87–83, and Perez sealed the game at the free-throw line with two makes in the final second to secure the 89–85 victory. 
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
  • Anthony Parker finished with a team-high 31 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block.
  • Enmanuel Ferreras also contributed 27 points (13–17 FG). .
  • The Ravens shot 47.9% from the field and 10-for-21 from three.
  • FPU scored 42 points in the paint and held a 20–12 edge in second-chance points.
