HOW IT HAPPENED
- Assumption opened scoring early in the first period just over three minutes into the game to put the Greyhounds on top 1-0. The teams battled back and forth for the remainder of the first period, but neither team was able to find the back of the net.Â
- The second period saw multiple power play opportunities, but neither were able to finish on the man-up advantage. The Greyhounds scored three unanswered goals in the second period to build a 4-0 advantage heading into the finals intermission.Â
- Franklin Pierce broke through in the third period as Nick Fish found the back of the net, shortening the deficit to 4-1 and giving the Ravens a spark in the fourth minute.
- While trading off penalties in the third, the Greyhounds found an even-strength goal before the Ravens pulled Jeremy Connor in a late effort to cut the deficit. Assumption was able to capitalize on the empty-net opportunity to finalize the game, 6-1.
