Ravens Complete Weekend Sweep Over Pioneers

WINCHENDON, Mass. (1/10/26) - The Ravens faced off against Sacred Heart University for game 2 of the NEWHA series. With two late third period goals, the Ravens were able to secure the weekend sweep over the Pioneers.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Caleigh Murphy (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) struck in the final second of the first period, burying a shot off a feed from Abigail Broz (White Bear Lake, Minn.) for her second goal of the weekend to give the Ravens an early edge. 
  • The Ravens earned two power-play opportunities in the second period but were unable to convert, keeping the score unchanged heading into the final frame. 
  • Offense erupted in the final five minutes of play, with three goals scored. Brynn Levinson (Glencoe, Ill.) doubled the Ravens' lead to 2–0 after finishing a pass from Lilah Bauer (Monroe, Wis.). 
  • The Pioneers responded with a power-play goal from Ally Cohen, cutting the deficit to one and injecting new life into their comeback attempt. 
  • However, Addison Andre (South St. Paul, Minn.) sealed the sweep for the Ravens with an empty-net goal to close out the game. 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS 

  • Murphy led the team with 5 shots. 
  • Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) made 34 saves. 
  • Sacred Heart outshot Pierce 35 to 24. 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will compete at home for another NEWHA series against Post University with game 1 starting at 7 PM on Friday, January 16th.
