Men’s Basketball Battles Back but Falls Short at Bentley, 67–60

RINDGE, N.H. (1/10/26) – The Franklin Pierce University men's basketball team mounted a determined second-half rally on Saturday afternoon but ultimately fell to Bentley University, 67–60, in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at the Charles A. Dana Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Bentley opened the contest with strong perimeter shooting and established an early advantage, jumping out to a double-digit lead midway through the first half. Franklin Pierce answered with improved ball movement and interior scoring late in the period, trimming the deficit, but Bentley carried a 34–23 lead into the locker room.
  • The Ravens came out of halftime with renewed energy, shooting more efficiently and applying defensive pressure to close the gap. Franklin Pierce cut the margin to five after baskets in the paint and timely stops, forcing Bentley to respond.
  • With momentum building, the Ravens made their biggest push in the closing minutes. With 5:26 remaining, Anthony Parker (Middletown, Conn.) knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game at 56–56, marking the first time Bentley's lead had been erased. The Falcons answered out of a timeout to regain a brief edge, but Franklin Pierce stayed composed. With 3:13 left, the Ravens tied the game again at 58–58 at the free-throw line.
  • Bentley, which never trailed in the contest, closed the game with key possessions down the stretch, converting late baskets and free throws to pull away and secure the 67–60 victory.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
  • Franklin Pierce shot 37.5% (24-of-64) from the field and 25.0% (5-of-20) from three-point range.
  • Bentley finished at 40.0% overall and 45.5% from beyond the arc.
  • The Ravens held a 30–20 advantage in points in the paint and outscored Bentley 37–33 in the second half. 
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Franklin Pierce men's basketball team will return to Rindge for their next NE10 opponent. They will host the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's (9-6, 3-2 NE10), Tuesday, for their second meeting of the season.
